OrderingBrowse my stock for sale. If you find a fish (or two, or three) that you would like to buy, contact me to ask about purchasing. I try to keep my site updated, so I will place a HOLD on the fish that have been spoken for. Fish will be held for 3 days only. If arrangements and payment have not been made after 3 days the fish will be made available for sale again. Pick up is available. I can deliver personally in the Halifax and Truro NS areas. There is no charge for this service. Contact me to arrange a pick up or personal delivery time. All other deliveries will need to be arranged individually. Deliveries to the Maritime Provinces can also be made by Acadian Lines bus (once the strike in NB and PEI is over) or VIA Rail in areas with train service. Shipping outside of the Maritimes will be by Courier (Purolator or FedEx) overnight delivery unless otherwise requested. Overnight delivery is strongly recommended for the health of your bettas. Your bettas will be double bagged and placed in a cardboard box lined with styrofoam. The fish will not be fed the day before shipment to reduce the production of waste in the bag. Shipments will be sent on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday only. A tracking number will be sent to you, and I ask that you please ensure you are available to accept the delivery. Receiving your BettasWhen you receive your order of Bettas, please open the box slowly, away from bright light. This is less stressful on the fish. Float the bag in your aquarium for 15 to 20 minutes to bring the water in the bag up to the aquarium water temperature. Open the bag and release the Bettas into your aquarium. The fish will be stressed out so it may take a day or two for their true colours to return. Tip: feed your fish shortly after you release them into your tank. By the time you release the fish, it has been several days since their last proper meal, and a meal of a good quality fish food will help them feel at home. The Betta "Arrive Alive Guarantee"I do have an "arrive alive" guarantee for your bettas. This only applies if you choose to have your fish shipped by next-day delivery. The following rules apply: Bettas will sometimes nip their own tails when stressed (for example, during shipping). I guarantee the fish will be sent in prime condition but cannot guarantee that they won't nip their fins during transit. Shipping will not be done between December and March - it's too cold to take the chance. I've had frozen fish arrive before from Ontario and it is very disappointing. Deliveries in the spring and fall will have heat packs added to the package with additional cost. Payment Options:I accept cash, money-order, personal check, Electronic Money Transfer -EMT- ($1 charge for each transaction) and PayPal (add 4%). Please allow 7 days for a personal check to clear. Payment must be made prior to fish being shipped out or in person for personal deliveries/pick ups. Or if you prefer, use our convenient online order form.
