March 24, 2012 - I'm really enjoying the variety in this spawn. I'm very happy with the males conformation so far, and their colors are very striking. Most are red/blue dragons with several yellow/blue dragons in there too. None that have the deep yellow color of their father (yet). A few of the males are changing colors (good old marble genes) with a very pale blue, almost white, face and body. It makes them interesting to watch grow up. The females are slower in developing (and I know there are still a few males in there with them) and several of them are showing the marbling effect as well. The colors in the females are not as deep, but there are some really nice looking gals in there so far.

February 5, 2012 - This is still a good sized spawn. They stopped growing for a time just after Christmas and I discovered that my BBS were not hatching well. Since I use decapsulated eggs in my hatchery, I can still feed the BBS, but they don't eat it as well (they like the movement). Once I got my BBS hatchery going properly again, the fry took a good growth spurt. They are still a little small for 2 month old fry but are now growing and developing fine.
I am surprised with the results of this spawn. At least half of the fry are showing red/blue dragon coloration, with a variety of other fin colors in the other half. I think some will give the yellow/blue color, and perhaps some black/blue color. Should be interesting to watch. I hope to start jarring these guys in another few weeks.

December 12, 2011 - The fry are free swimming and I have started them on BBS now. They should continue to grow rapidly now. Not a huge spawn, but definitely a decent sized one. Should be just about the right size.

December 5, 2011 - This pair spawned today. I tried the male with his sibling first but she didn't appear to be ready. So I tried with this female and success. A decent sized spawn from the looks of things.
