March 24, 2012 - This is a very small spawn. They grew nicely once I pulled their big brother from their tank. To date I have 4 jarred males with at least 2 more in the tank with their sisters, and only about 4 or 5 girls. The big brother is growing nicely, but he doesn't have any ventrals. He's the only one of the entire spawn without ventrals and all the others have nice finnage so far. It's hard to judge how they will look at this point, but I'm hoping some of the smaller males will look as nice as their big brother, only with ventrals.

February 5, 2012 - I haven't been very good at updating on this spawn! This was a very small spawn - only about a dozen or so surviving fry. Most of the fry are growing like mad, but there are 3 or 4 who are exceptionally small. I jarred the first male today - his fins are developing quickly but he hasn't started getting nasty to his siblings yet. Maybe the small fry will have a better chance at the food if the larger ones are removed.

December 12, 2011 - This pair spawned today. I tried the male with his sibling first and another female, both of which he nipped badly. So I tried with this female and success. A decent sized spawn from the looks of things.
