Thai Flag HM x Opaque HMmale by Crazy4bettas x female by Gedediah February 5, 2012 - All of these are now jarred. I had 5 beautiful boys, almost all with a full HM spread and lovely finnage, and 4 females. I needed the tank I had the girls in for another batch of females so moved the 3 girls (I had sold a pair) to individual quarters. Two of them (the ones with the nicer finnage!) built bubblenests! So, I now only have one female available (but the female I sold as a female is indeed a female), and 6 males. The 4 original males are listed in the stock shop December 12, 2011 - I have jarred 5 males from this spawn and am watching two others who are still living harmoniously with their sisters. The males are all white except for a hint of blue marbling beginning in their fins. They have a very nice form so I am eager to see how they look when fully mature. November 30, 2011 - The males began to develop their finnage a week or so ago so I've been watching them closely for signs of aggression. I separated two of the more developed males 4 days ago because they were displaying at each other. Within 12 hours of my separating them, both boys had huge bubblenests in their new homes. Cheeky little guys! I separated a third male 2 days ago and he also built a huge bubble nest with the day. There are at least 2 more males starting to develop in this spawn, and possibly as many as 2 more after that. November 9, 2011 - The fry are about a month and a half old and growing nicely. There are only a couple who are not at least 3/4 inch in size and most have developed red colored fins so far. There are about a dozen fry in total. I'm really curious to see how these guys develop with the out-cross in bloodlines. October 9, 2011 - This is not a huge spawn, but they are growing nicely. All appear to be white at this point in time. I'm hoping that they will develop the Thai Flag coloration as they mature. September 26, 2011 - This pair spawned for me today. This male is the only survivor of the Thai Flag HM spawn I had last year where the male ate most of the fry. I will be keeping an eye on him to make sure he doesn't follow in his footsteps. |
